Associated EXPERT
I am an international advisor focusing on the global and national implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular view to financing, planning, public policies, institutional change and partnerships.
Over the past 20 years, I have worked with numerous governments and multilateral organizations (namely the World Bank, G20, OECD and different UN agencies), and provided both high-level strategic and hands-on operational support in areas such as the global and national implementation of the 2030 Agenda, climate finance, South-South cooperation and aid/development effectiveness, covering more than 90 countries from all regions. More than 70 publications in different formats (from briefing papers to books) and languages (writing in English, Spanish, German) reflect my desire to not only consult and advice, but to share knowledge and ideas emerging from my work as broadly as possible.
I complement my professional agenda with pro bono support to Southern academia and developing countries' governments, in initiatives that might not be financially lucrative, but a rewarding contribution to build institutional capacity "from within". It is also a way of nurturing a large network of global, national and local peers and partners who share the commitment to use the vast opportunities of our time and to become sustainable and resilient, as individuals and as communities.
